Today marks the beginning back-to-normal, daily blogging. I had a nice holiday season and am super excited to be back. Hooray!
To kick off a new year of regular blogging, I’ll be reviewing a fairly new product that’s still quite hot at the moment: Benefit Rockateur blush.
Benefit Rockateur is marketed as a rose gold blush. Like other Benefit boxed powders, it is scented and it comes with a flat but slightly fluffy brush in it (that I don’t use it and don’t find to be particularly good).
I truly hate the packaging. I think it looks tacky because there is SO much going on. There’s crocodile print, black and pink lace, and studs. Why, Benefit? Normally Benefit packaging is so cute.
The product itself comes with a serious gold overspray, which makes the whole thing quite shimmery and highlighting. I knew this from the get-go, which is why I was hesitant to try this at all. I’m not a shimmery blush fan because I like to control where my shimmer goes with precise highlighting. However, once you break through the gold overspray, it’s actually a lot less shimmery. It just gives a healthy glow.
My one complaint about it is that it is extremely sheer. However, the powder is so fine that I can really pack it on to get the payoff I want without it looking cakey.
If you’re new to the world of Benefit blushes and want something pretty and natural to wear every day, this is a really good pick…as long as you don’t mind having to pack the colour on!
