I’m not a hauler – I don’t go out and buy a whole bunch of stuff at once. In fact, rarely do I walk out of Sephora with more than one item at a time.
I picked up a YSL lipstick I’ve been eyeing for a while. It’s the Rouge Volupte Shine in 16 Orange Impertinent. It’s a really confusing colour; it’s definitely orange, but pulls more of a coral-y pink on me. I saw it on KeikoBeauty (marguerite01) on YouTube; it was so pretty on her, and we have very similar colouring, so I thought I’d check it out. I’m sure I’ll update you on thoughts and swatches once I’ve properly tried it out.
The other item I grabbed is one I’ve been putting off buying for literally two years. I have a mini of Nails Inc’s famous Porchester Square, and that mini is almost finished (I’ve been using it sparingly). I’d have gone with the original formula, but there weren’t any (at all, in any shade!) at my Sephora, so I picked up the Gel Effect formula. I adore the colour, and won’t even be disappointed if it’s not gel-like in shine and wear.
Then, because I spend too much money at Sephora, I qualified for VIB Rouge. I get a shiny new card, a little Bite Beauty lipstick in an exclusive VIB Rouge shade, and a few new perks. On top of the Beauty Insider and VIB perks, Rouge members also get unlimited free makeovers at the Beauty Studio, free shipping online with no minimum order, and access to surprise gifts and special events. I’ve heard most Rouge members haven’t been thrilled with the gifts, events, and service, so we’ll see how that pans out between now and December 2015. Again, I’ll be sure to update.
