Sephora Collection PRO Warm Palette – Review and Swatches on Dark Skin

Like the rest of the makeup-wearing human population, I love a warm-toned palette. Gimme dem oranges, rusts, yellows, and berries any day. But when I saw the Sephora Collection PRO Warm Palette, I had some mixed feelings. Sure the colours were gorgeous, but that $85 price tag? Sephora Collection is to Sephora what Great Value is to Walmart. Mentally, I couldn’t justify the price. But then I swatched it. And I was obsessed.

The shades swatch beautifully, and they apply just as beautifully on the eyelids. With the exception of a few duds (I’m looking at you, Peach and Brown Sugar), the shades are super pigmented and buttery. However, I have a few major complaints with this palette, and ultimately, I ended up returning it to Sephora.

The first and most significant issue in my books is that, although the shades go on beautifully and basically blend themselves, they don’t stay. I have never worn an eyeshadow that faded so quickly on my eyes even with primer! And for $85, I expect some staying power.

The other issue is the price combined with the shade selection. As you can probably see from the swatches, a lot of the shades are really similar on my skin tone. This palette could have been tailored down to perhaps 20 shades instead of 28 and the price reduced significantly.

Ultimately, the wear issue combined with the price led me to conclude that this palette just isn’t worth it. However, reviews on the Sephora page and elsewhere on the internet seem to disagree, so your mileage may vary. If you can fit it into your budget, I recommend picking it up (if you can catch it in stock!) and testing it out on your own eyes.
