There’s an awesome-o flash sale-type dealy going on at Shoppers Drug Mart on Wednesday November 27 from 5-8pm.
When you bring this coupon, their nail polish is Buy One Get One Free!
Shoppers does this every so often, which I think is pretty fab. They haven’t listed which brands are and aren’t included as yet, although it does say it excludes nail tools, gel polishes and kits, and prestige nail polishes. One can only hope that “prestige polishes” means the likes of Dior and Clinique, because I’d like to stock up on some Essie for Christmas presents and there’s a Nails Inc polish I’ve been eyeing!
You can bet I’ll be there. I plan to hit up two SDM stores on Wednesday because why not okay? Certain places might have more new collections and such.
I used to buy cotton pads from the drugstore for about $3 every month. I use facial cotton pads daily for my Bioderma and toner. On average I would use about 2-3 pads for each task because they would fall apart, leave their cottony residue on my face/eyes, etc. This contributed to how quickly I would go through these pads.
I started using the Shiseido cotton after a friend who works for the company convinced me that it was literally the best. However, I was skeptical. $11 cotton? But the way she sold it to me was that because I would only be using 1 piece of cotton per task, I would end up buying the cotton once every three months, which works out to roughly what it did when I was buying drugstore cotton.
Every so often the drugstore brands release an arsenal of new lip products. They always come out in the US first, which results in me hearing about them online and stalking my local drugstores like a crazy person waiting for them to arrive here in Canada.
I got super excited when I saw these at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. They’re the Maybelline Colour Elixir lip glosses. And they’re pretty great.
Chevron manicures aren’t new. I’ve been doing mine this way for probably about three years… But I still think they’re cute and relevant. Idk, okay?
You can use whatever colours you want, and this tutorial also includes ideas of other types of nail stickers you can make. Whenever I wear this, I invariably get a few people asking me how I did it. It’s super easy, so let’s get to it!
One of my favourite things to order at Starbucks is a green tea latte.
For those of you who don’t know what that is, they basically whisk together simple syrup, matcha powder, and foamed milk.
But I don’t like matcha (except in green tea ice cream) because I think it tastes thick (how can something taste thick? I don’t know but that’s how it tastes okay). I prefer it made with a China Tips Tazo tea bag, not a Zen tea bag. And I like nonfat milk. And I only like three pumps of syrup in my Grande rather than the standard four. And I like vanilla syrup instead of classic.
All this makes the barista pull out a cup and a Sharpie and the person behind me sigh with exasperation.
So my Ultimate Lip Balm Hunt has been stagnant and unsuccessful for a few years, as illustrated by the Dior Crème de Rose flop. However, the balm I’ve been using for the last few years has been working for me. I suppose that begs the question of why I’m on the hunt for a better one… I like lip balm, okay?
So when these cream shadows came onto the market a few years back, everybody flipped out. Particular shades were virtually impossible to find because they sold out so fast (I’m looking at you, Bad to the Bronze!) and as they released more shades, those got snapped up quickly too.
When you try one out, it’s easy to see why Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadows are so popular. They come in tons of pretty colours, ranging from neutrals to pigmented brights and darks to a silvery white. They stay on well. All that for under $10? Omg.
So my skin has been behaving crazy lately. I don’t break out all that often – I think it’s a combination a rigorous skincare regime, my Clarisonic, genetics, and luck. However, as of late, my luck hasn’t been so good – maybe because I’ve been stressed. It’s midterm season.
Anyway, to combat my acne, these are the products I’ve been using.
