My January Favourites
It’s favourites time again. I didn’t do a December favourites post, replacing it instead with my massive, two-part 2013 favourites. But with the new year comes my commitment to sharing my favourites each and every month.
Most of these products are ones that I’ve talked about incessantly, but I tried to include a few newbies in the bunch as well.
The first is Benefit Rockateur. I’ve talked about it in a few posts this month, but it’s literally the only blush I’ve been wearing. In the winter I do like a glowier product on the cheeks, and Rockateur is super glowy because it’s loaded with shimmer even after you get past the overspray.
CND Vinylux Topcoat is technically a part of their Vinylux system, but I really love the topcoat for regular nail polishes as well. It dries reasonably fast and makes everything very shiny.
Urban Decay’s Naked 3 is pretty much all I’ve been wearing on my eyes this month (and last month). There are just so many options, and the pink undertones of all the shadows is unique but still flattering.
I’ve never talked about LaVanilla The Healthy Deodorant before, but it’s a product that I’ve been using for years. It’s an all-natural deodorant (note: not an antiperspirant) that’s free of parabens and aluminum and other bad stuff. The coconut flavour is my favourite, but the lavender one’ll do in a pinch. It isn’t as powerful as, say, a Secret deodorant, but it’s natural and I prefer the feeling of it on my skin. It does require reapplication if you have a particularly long day, however!
Origins Drink Up Intensive has been my skin’s best friend this month. It’s a super thick overnight mask that I rub in like a moisturizer at night. It smells like apricots and leaves skin hydrated and fresh in the morning.
Even though I got Maybelline Baby Skin partway through January, I’ve been really loving it. It’s made a primer-convert out of me!
I’ve had Alien by Thierry Mugler for quite a while, and I’ve just been recently getting back into it. It’s such a unique, sophisticated scent that lingers all day long.
Lancôme Art Liner in Black is the first Lancôme product I’ve tried…and I’m impressed! It’s a felt-tip liner that goes on super black and glossy. I’ve been using it to do a super thin line close to my lashes rather than tightlining. It still saves lid space, but thickens up the lashes!
Finally, The Body Shop Body Butter in Vineyard Peach has been the only body butter I’ve used this month. It’s a very fruity, almost summery scent, but I think it’s an awesome pick-me-up in the middle of winter!
