July is gone and my comprehensive exam is happening in 22 days, so of course it’s time to blog about the beauty things I loved this month. I don’t make favourites a regular thing, but there have been quite a few items that I’ve been excited about so I thought I would share.
Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette // Duh. I and everyone else have been loving this this month, and even have an in-depth review with swatches of it. I love the shade selection, the formula, all of it!
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Medium Deep // I’ve got a tan now, and the lighter shade of LM powder is way too light for me, even under my eyes. I’ve been using this not only all over the face, but to bake beside my nose, which is where I get greasiest throughout the day. I honestly wonder what we did before baking. Thank you, drag queens.
Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray // Speaking of greasiness, I shower in this once I’m done my makeup and it helps keep the oil at bay a little longer than if I didn’t. When I forget to put it on, I notice a difference – I’ve got to blot sooner.
NudeStix Concealer Pencil in Deep 7 // This one, I have to thank my best friend CC for. It makes an incredible under-brow concealer. The texture is thick and creamy, stiff enough to define the brow but not so much so that it doesn’t blend. Although number 8 matches my skin right now, 7 is a few shades lighter and blends out for a nice subtle matte highlight.
Chapstick Total Hydration in Honey Blossom and Sweet Peach // These might make their way to favourite lip balm ever status. They’re not available in Canada for some horrible reason, but if you’re in the US or willing to shell out on shipping on Amazon or eBay, pick these up. They smell amazing and hydrate the lips so wonderfully. The best part is that they are thinner, more lightweight, and less waxy than regular Chapstick, making them really great for layering under lipsticks (liquid or otherwise).
