JeJoue Mimi Soft Luxury Vibrator Review

So here’s the thing: I love sex, and I love sex toys. I love these things as much as I love makeup – maybe more.

For a while, I’ve been toying (get it? Because sex toys?) with the idea of reviewing vibrators and other sexy items here on my blog, but I thought my dear readers might not be interested (at best) or might be scandalized (at worst).

This will forever be a beauty blog first, but I’ve been dabbling with lifestyle posts – including ones on menstrual products, dating, and mental health! – and I wanted to incorporate yet another thing I’m passionate about.

One of the newer additions to my little collection is the JeJoue Mimi Soft, a luxury clitoral (or at the very least, external) vibe made of high-quality silicone. I picked mine up from Well.ca because they are Canadian (so no pesky customs fees to deal with), and have coupon codes that you can apply to your purchase. The purple one retails for $94.99 (other shades are more expensive for some reason – who knows why).

This baby ticks all the boxes – it’s completely waterproof, rechargeable, and phthalate-free. It’s worth noting that the fact that it’s silicone means it plays nice with water-based lube, and should be kept away from other silicone toys in your toy box otherwise I’m pretty sure they melt or explode or something.

The first thing I noticed about this vibe is how soft it is…which seems silly considering it’s in the name, but bear with me on this one, k? The silicone is buttery smooth and seamless across the surface, as is to be expected with a luxe toy, but it’s also slightly squishy to the touch, particularly at the tip. This makes for a really unique experience against the body, especially compared to hard plastic, jelly, or even other silicone toys. It’s firm, but soft at the same time.

Aside from the texture, I also really like the size and shape. It’s large enough that it’s comfortable to hold in my palm, but also small enough that it isn’t obtrusive during play with a partner.

Another serious plus is the range of sensations that the vibrations provide. The controls are located on one end, and include a plus and minus button to toggle speed and intensity, as well as a button in the middle to switch between the six different pulse patterns available. I’ve never been one for pulse patterns – give me a strong steady vibration, please and thanks – so I can really only speak to the standard vibe pattern because that’s all I use because I am boring.

Oddly enough, it’s the low settings that really stand out to me on this, and I’m usually all about the highest settings. Mimi’s two lowest settings give a deliciously rumbly, rattling vibration that I’ve never experienced with other toys. Somewhere in the middle it switches over to the conventional, buzzing vibration that most toys deliver, but those low settings are something else. Like, a good something else.

There are two drawbacks: she is a little bit on the loud side, so if you’re looking to keep things discreet, maybe skip this one. The other drawback is that the location and configuration of the buttons make it difficult to toggle and adjust during play. I have had to stop what I was doing, bring it up to my face in the dark, adjust the settings, and then resume. That can put a damper on things.

Overall, though, I’m super pleased with this toy and would absolutely recommend it whether you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of luxe toys, or to round out an already-robust collection.
