Fenty Beauty STUNNA Lip Paint in Uncensored – Swatches on Dark Skin

I’m not sure how much point there is to this post because the world has collectively decided that we love Fenty Beauty and Rih can do no wrong, but if you’re on the fence, I thought I’d offer my thoughts on the new Fenty Beauty STUNNA Lip Paint in Uncensored along with a few swatches and a comparison with a few of my other reds.

Uncensored is what I’d call a true neutral red. It doesn’t pull too blue or too orange on me, but I’ve seen it look more blue or more orange on people with different undertones. I think that that adds to the beauty and versatility of the shade because, and as Rihanna and Fenty Beauty have confirmed, Uncensored is a red for everyone.

The packaging, as with all Fenty lip products, is super unique. This one looks like it might be a nail polish, which is a lil weird at first, but I really appreciate that the unusual shape makes it easy to find in the sea of other lip products in my purse at any given time.

The brush is also unique. It’s still a doe-foot applicator, but the body of the brush is hourglass-shaped. I’ve found that, combined with the formula, there’s a bit of a learning curve in applying. The formula is super thin and watery. This, along with the brush, I find makes it difficult to control application, leading to a bit of a wiggly lip line if I’m not careful. But this is purely a matter of preference, of course. I’m just used to a slightly thicker formula and a conventional brush.

The plus side to the very liquidy formula is that it’s extremely lightweight and comfortable to wear. Although it’s matte, it doesn’t dry down to a transfer-proof finish, which might be a dealbreaker for some people, but it doesn’t bother me. In fact, that adds to its comfort on the lips, because it isn’t drying on my already-dry lips. I find that the wear time is still impressive, although I do like to touch it up once throughout the day if I’m wearing it to school or something. Another plus to the non-drying formula is that you can add another layer right on top without looking cakey.

In a few short weeks, it’s become my go-to red. I really enjoy the formula, and look forward to Rihanna releasing other shades (gimme some nooooodz).
